For this installation, the delicate quality of the Washi paper is highlighted by letting the print float from a purpose-built oak lintel, crafted to match the original Craftsman woodwork. This unusual treatment evokes a tapestry or scroll painting aesthetic. Some collectors will want to frame and glaze the work for archival reasons, in which case floating the print beneath the glazing so that the Washi paper retains its organic quality is recommended.
